Heathfield Court voted as one of London’s best care homes

Heathfield Court has been named one of London’s Top 20 Care Homes.

Beating off competition from more than 1,000 other care homes in the city, Heathfield Court is the only one in the London Borough of Bexley to receive the accolade from the UK’s leading reviews guide to care homes, carehome.co.uk.

There are 1284 care homes in London, with the top 20 receiving an award, based on reviews submitted by residents, their families and friends. Heathfield Court has a rating of 9.9 out of 10.

Gina Kitchenham, manager at Heathfield Court, said: “We are thrilled to receive this award as it’s a testimony to the love and care our dedicated team members provide to our residents. Since we opened five years ago, we have created a close-knit, happy family, where our residents’ friends and family play an active role in their loved one’s life. We are so proud of the positive reviews we’ve received as our residents are at the very heart of everything we do.”

Resident Shirley Taylor, aged 88, said: “This is like one big family, I’ve made so many good friends here. The activities that are on offer here are wonderful, I enjoy learning new things and keeping busy.”

Andrea Bishop, whose mother lives at Heathfield Court, said: “Mum has high complex needs, the staff worked hard to get to know and understand her needs, keeping me in the loop throughout and taking on board tips and advice as I had helped care for Mum at home for a long time. Each staff member has something unique with the care they give my Mum. The standard of the care home team is a reflection on the leadership team at Heathfield Court – I wouldn’t want Mum to be anywhere else.”
